Jessica Novak is a 1981 drama television series that aired on CBS from November 5, 1981 till December 3, 1981 and was written by Ira Steven Behr. The cast includes Helen Shaver, Kip Gilman, Erik Kilpatrick, and Lara Parker.

Jessica Jessica is the story of two friends in their very late 30's who aren't married, who aren't mothers, who aren't failures, and are both named Jessica.

An ostracised Croatian neuroscientist is drawn out of hiding in Athens by an activist group of idealistic young scientists fascinated by his previously discredited theories about electromagnetic pollution. As egos swell and actions take momentum, the community they form starts to unravel. The film is fuelled by a grungy, lo-fi, sci-fi energy as it takes its swerving turns, offset by a disarmingly surreal sense of place. An offbeat, intriguing exploration of idol worship, consumerism and non-conformity in the modern world, this is dark, unpredictable and humourous in equal measure.

An ageing Serbian neuroscientist lives a reclusive life in Athens, having been branded as a paranoid schizophrenic for his radical research on the effects of electromagnetic radiation on humans. But when, decades later, he is rediscovered by a group of young dreamers who are trying to change the world through his ideas, he decides to quit his medication and join them in their scientific commune, risking his sanity in pursuit of a higher goal.

Terrified of the changes around her, not-so-recent college grad Jessica searches for something-anything-that still feels familiar.

The Bergman sisters could not be more different. Jessica is a feisty tomboy who loves to help her father work their farmland. Her beautiful sister Meg is eagerly being groomed by her mother Hester (Lisa Harrow) to be the perfect wife, so that she can marry her way out of poverty. However, when the man, Jack Thomas, who Meg has set her sights on falls in love with Jessica and gets her pregnant, Hester schemes to wrench the couple apart to claim Jessica's son, Joey for Meg. Later she commits Jessica to a mental asylum. It is here that Jessica receives news of her lover's death and almost loses hope, but after enlisting the help of Mr. Runche, a down and out lawyer battling alcoholism, she is eventually released. Years later, it is the reformed Runche who gives Jessica the courage to fight for the return of her child. Eventually Meg and Hester call an uneasy truce with Jessica, and allow her to play a role in Joey's life as his aunt.

Set in the Australian outback at the turn of the twentieth century, this family based drama follows a young woman who is unjustly institutionalised.

Mr. Novak is an American dramatic series starring James Franciscus in the title role, which aired on NBC for two seasons, from 1963 to 1965.
